This week’s contest answer is something you might say after getting the meta.

Nice to get a chance to dust off the old calculus (kidding). Fun meta!

I need to come up with a different plan of attack because what I'm trying is not working no matter how hard I try to force it. Stepping away from it for a bit to clear my head.

Got the first part quickly but then ran into a wall. Hoping for post-enlightenment.

On a second look, I've also gotten the first part now. But now I'm stuck again. So like Leslie, looking for post enlightenment.

I am in the same position as Leslie and Spotter. Can’t be too far away from the answer.

Right now in the same boat as Leslie is and Spotter was. Can’t make it to next step. I too am hoping for post enlightenment. Ah well the weekend is young.

Stay well all!

Beam me up! I had some mistakes (grid and conceptual) that confused things for a while. This was a good one!

Woohoo! For whatever reason this was a breeze compared to last week. Happy solving everyone, if you need a nudge give me a PM.

This one fell into place all at once. Happy to return last week's favor of nudges to any in need.

not 100% on my grid, the .puz app I have on my Chromebook sometimes works well with these files, with Matt's, just becomes gibberish if I have it confirm my grid/print the solution.

since I got the WSJ one very quickly, now I know how I'll be spending this weekend.

Whew, post-enlightment + getting back to work then returning to the grid worked!

Phew got it! Agree with TonyRobots - this was much more in my wheelhouse than last week's.

Beam me up!

Really enjoyed this one. Twice this week (Brian Mac, MGWCC), I’ve dozed off while searching for the missing piece, then woke up to find it quickly. Must be some kind of osmosis at work.

After doing some yard work and letting the grid sit for a while, I believe that I have reached nirvana.
