#623 - "Questionable Humor"

An excellent puzzle written by one of the innovators of the meta crossword format. It comes out every Friday at noon and increases in difficulty throughout the month. Available for modest subscription (worth every cent) here: www.xwordcontest.com

That was fun! This would be a great one to show to new people. It's not trivial but still easy enough to understand/explain and gettable by beginners.

Beam me up, too! Fun one using a mechanism Iโ€™ve checked for in the past but never seen.

The streak is a rush. I was number one for a hot minute today until Meg solved. I suspect that is the first and last time I will ever see that.

Man, if EVER there was a puzzle right in my wheelhouse this is it. Joe Ross and Oldjudge, you know what I am talking about. I LIKED it, of course I solved it so that in itself is a reason to like it since the pony does not always appear for me after I dig through all the pony poop. I often end up with my solving pen dulled or deadened, but this time no pen obtunded! (and believe me that is not 35A cause it is!)

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Actually, I started the MGWCC with puzzle #43, which was over 11 years ago. You'd think these meta puzzles would be a piece of cake by now......but NO! I'm regularly stumped for hours and marvel at Al Sisti's speed. Experience helps, but I think itโ€™s mostly brain elasticity.
