Did anyone else have trouble with their Patreon subscription, or was it just me? My automatic PayPal payment failed, and there seems to be nothing I can do to get it to go through.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

No problem here. I know you'll work out the payment; in the mean time, if you're unable to get this week's puzzle and would like me to email it let me know.

no problems here ... with Patreon.
with WSJ, I'm probably overthinking it, I'm stymied.

Awaiting the beam... [I sorted out the payment issue!]
... and I'm beamed! Nice week 1 puzzle.

Beamed. Should have been easier as I am an avid tennis player. It seems like week one puzzles tend to rely on circumstantial evidence without a solid click. Or is that just me?

Beamed up at #92 yesterday with no hesitation.
No grousing on this sports related meta.

Beamed up. Super quick for a change. And with the WSJ done as well, I can finally get stuff done.

Forgot to post then, but I beamed up yesterday after a late start. I'm sufficiently bad at this genre that the answer wasn't immediately obvious to me, but Google (and the fact that I wasn't trying to solve the no-instructions version) helped.
Patreon didn't charge me until today, but it seemed to go through okay when it did. It's had problems for no reason at least once in the past though.

Am I the only one who had trouble with this? Not a lot of trouble and nothing that I couldn't work out in under three minutes but there was a moment of about a minute of "oh my God. I just don't know this"
No-one else?
No-one else?
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

It's true that week 1s sometimes rely on external knowledge (and it's much much more rare with the later weeks). Usually it's something that's very common and/or very googleable, but of course that's a tricky judgement.

Forgot to post earlier today, but got it, awaiting beamage.
Did anyone successfully go downs-only, no-instructions without a peek or a nudge?
I needed to peek at three across clues to complete the grid fill, and finally gave in this morning and looked at the prompt.
