Puzzle #89 and #90 drawing winners to come! I also plan on doing a third year of Summer of Solves, which means I hope some puzzly inspiration continues to strike me this summer!
---
Puzzle #92 answer: ZEPHYR
Correct entries: 53
@BrennerTJ blew me away with these graphics!
Explanation: Six clues contain the word "wind" in part of them. The initial letters of these spell out NOT YET, indicating that's not quite the mechanism! Rather, six other entries in the grid are those "windy" words with the "wind" blown away and replaced by a different letter. These replaced letters spell out ZEPHYR in top-bottom order, the meta answer.
---
This is a Level 1. Seriously.
---
93. Person of Letters
The answer to the meta is a former winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Deadline is Saturday, May 18 at 1 pm ET.
Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Pun and done! (Stolen from KayW above. I like it!)
Mikey, I’d trade my Tigers for your Cubs right now. Suddenly the bullpen can’t stop blowing leads.

I enjoyed this puzzle - the trap and the actual mechanism - but I propose to you a new rule for assigning difficulty ratings: if your puzzle has a FAKE ANSWER, it is a level 5/5.MikeyG wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 1:00 pm

Solved! Fun one, Mikey.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

I got a little sidetracked and didn't see it right away but... well, I saw it right away but I didn't see the answer right away... but that was me being side-tracked. It's there. Right there.
Good one. Not really a Level 1, though. More like a Level 1 + epsilon for an arbitrarily small positive value of epsilon.

Stinky Pinkies!
My Entry to the May 2024 CrossHare Midi Contest
Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

Fun; once I finally believed you really were not trying to complicate things. Thanks for the puzzle.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

(Yes, that’s feeble. Mikey, you need to come up with a catchphrase for us to use when we solve a Pun of a Kind. I think it should be a pun.)

Pun and done. And fun, as usual. It took me longer than it should have and of course there was a head slap!
