X Marks the Spot

Post by Thurman8er »

Hello, Muggles!

The answer to this week's Muggle Meta is the title of a novel.

For a variety of reasons, I am looking forward to seeing the comments this week. One of the main reasons is that I've been out of the meta milieu for a while and my fellow Muggles always PULL me back in! I will be out of town from Friday through Sunday, but I will stay in touch as much as possible. We are going to see the Angels take on the Nationals for two games. We are all diehard fans and the Angels are doing very well this season so it's highly likely that some baseball commentary will find its way into the thread. :D

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Pending confirmation, maaaaybe off the couch?? Enjoyed it! (...oh, and GO NATS!!)

Edit: confirmed, and also confirmed some mutual respect between these Angels and Nats fans, so all's right with the world

Off the couch, and submitted. Though not sure I’m correct. We’ll see.

UPDATE: Confirmed!

As for my Tigers, they’re supposedly on the rise, but it ain’t quite happenin’ yet this year.

Off the couch! As a cantillation nerd, I really appreciated 39-Across.

The Excel file may have an error in it...look at the lengths of the words in the top few rows not matching the picture above, and the solo-square with #26 in it....

Me too!
Maybe you can fit its partner 'veyored' in your next puzzle! Though finding an alternate clue might be difficult.

Off the couch. What a fun puzzle. Moderately difficult until I figured out the fill. Meta came quickly after that.

Challenging grid but really enjoyable. I have gotten the first part of the mechanism although I have a question about one of the answers. Now I must ponder the novel.

I was doubtful of my answer because of the title's history, but I'm off the couch.

I haven’t been confirmed yet, but I had a similar feeling when I submitted that title. I’m probably off the couch as well.
