Off the couch. Glad you've joined the ranks of meta creators. Really loved the clues for 1D and 47D. And 3D has given me an earworm!

I think I skipped a step or two for the meta but I had a hunch and it turned out to be correct

Nice one! Glad to have been a part of this meta being shared with the world. May there be many more to come!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

“Cats” gets a bad rap, but when I was studying in a certain city in 1981 (where a certain phrase was heard regularly), I stood in queue for hours for cheap no-show return tickets at least three times during the semester to see it, and it was innovative and exciting in those days. So, Griddlebone, Rumpleteazer, RumTum Tugger, JennyAnyDots and ALL the rest are off the couch and on the stage in my “MEM-ries… all alone in the moonlight…”. (earworm show like no other)…

Thanks for an enjoyable, just-enough-of-a-challenge puzzle to wind down my work-heavy Monday!
The other Wendy.

Confirmed off the couch. Agree with Benchen 71. May there be many more from Mark!

Off the couch! I really enjoyed your clueing.

I had to stare at it for a bit.

In retrospect, I really appreciated the title, but that may be due to my age and familiarity with the meta answer. (Assuming that was your intention.)

Here are my criticisms:

NONE

Please bring more.

Great debut. Good clues (esp. 1D) and the right level of difficulty for starting the week, even if I didn't get it till Tuesday.

I know, you all have been wondering where I have been (not). :-) Anyway, finally got back online and printed off Mark's meta as I was making some margaritas. The tequila must be the key - - finished the grid and got the meta within 5 mins, which (as you probably guessed) is a rarity for me. Anyway, thanks Mark - - great debut!

OK, it’s Wednesday, so that must mean it’s time for some nudges - the three hints below get more specific as you go. I think they will get you to the answer, but if not, let me know and I’ll come up with some more:

Consider the title! Just kidding - everyone likes a good title hint, right? But speaking of the title, the gaps you are looking for do not refer to the black squares. Where else might you find gaps?

Maybe you should go for a run

The meta answer will get you from point A to Zed
