I believe I am on the right track but it isn't coming together yet. Is there going to be a zoom to discuss this one? I would love that.

Got it, with probably the same caveat everyone else is talking about.

I'm being lazy in correcting mistakes I have but can back solve them.

Now, I'm being lazy in submitting without a net. 🤨

Matt amended the instructions:
After some thought I have decided to amend the instructions to MGWCC #778, "What's Wrong?"

The new instructions are:

This week's contest answer is a 15-letter automotive term.

Missed out on my first top 50
Sorry, I stole #50 from you!

I had what I'm sure is the same doubt as others — I think I understand why it's the way it is, but also wondering if I just missed something. I hope all will be explained next week.

Beamed up! I had a bad moment of counting letters after the update email and before I checked if I was on the leaderboard, but all good. Not sure what specific uncertainty others are referring to but there were a few things I had to think about.

That is a *heck* of a lot of submissions for a week 4! I'm sure it's not as easy as it's looking to be.

EDIT: Well, I'll be. It *was* as easy as it was looking to be. Week 1.5 on my scale.

EDIT2: I didn't get to the puzzle until after the update. I'm not sure if I'd have as much confidence without it but I'm not sure I'm seeing enough to cause doubt if I hadn't the update.

Okay, it *is* harder than a 1.5 but not for the usual reasons that makes a puzzle hard. More for the things that made this a slow solve.

Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

Got the answer earlier but sat on it, being unsure. Happy to get the clarified prompt, allowing me to submit the first 15 of my 16 letters. Cheers all!

I've beamed up.

I didn't start this one until after the revised instructions came out; guess that was lucky. But I'm curious to know what wrong answer people submitted before and what was the uncertainty that some early solvers mentioned. I had one question mark in my notes, but the rest of it made it obvious what to do there, and the answer felt nice and solid. Now I'm trying to backsolve a wrong answer and not having any luck with that :)
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Awaiting the beam...

... and I'm beamed! :D
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Well maybe not hard but difficult. I have submitted what I feel should be a good answer but I do not have a 100% certainty. I'll have to wait for the update. It seems like I should be right, but I have said that many times before and have been incorrect!
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
