Got it. Clever and amusing. One of Gaffney's better ones.

Argh. nine hours lost on a miscalculation.

Now an clever intricate puzzle (that I needed to be told I made a mistake but otherwise I worked out) that leads to a ... sorta guess??? Well, not like I have a streak to protect.

EDIT: #67 and there is a stronger click I hadn't seen immediately.

Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Awaiting the beam... [Fun puzzle, with a slightly awkward final step... that's if I have the correct answer!]

... and I'm beamed at #69! :D
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Got it after a subtle initial nudge and a shove toward the final confirmation that I just couldn’t see for the longest time. 😂

After a small nudge (thanks @boharr ) and a lot of thinking, I finally got it. Great puzzle!

Can I borrow Felix? My cat Henry is unclear on the concept. He brings live mice in the house and then lets them go.
(Also birds and kangaroo rats.) He brought in a mouse a few days ago and I haven't caught it yet. Very frustrating.

Think I might need a small nudge to get started. Fill done, then nada. Anyone feel Good Samaritan-ish?

I have completed steps 1 and 2, trying to make that last connection. Step 2 yielded something that is not at all in my wheelhouse. I have a suspicion about the answer, but still stewing on it trying to find that confirmation.

UPDATE: After an epiphany on the confirmation, I have submitted and I have been beamed! My suspicion was correct.

Took a second look at the puzzle this morning and noticed a pattern that led to my solution, but there is something that is not part of the pattern but seems like it should be so I am a little confused

Have submitted an answer I am fairly confident of, but experience has taught me that doesn't mean it is right. I wish I had worked on this more yesterday, but since I know I'll never make #1 the idea of an early number id rather moot.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Beamed up, after confirming with another muggle. I still have some lingering qualms about this one, will be curious to read next week's write-up.

Awaiting the beam after a helpful course correction on the final step. Fun one! WSJ continues to elude me.

Waiting on beam up. Thanks to Alan (ajk) for a hint as to where I could start without telling me what to do.

Apparently Matt has taken a holiday from updating the leaderboard. Can someone please confirm my answer so I don’t keep checking?

Thanks.

Edit: Never mind. I made it! #106, only 11 behind docison and just 3 ahead of Megan Amram. ☺️

I have been told that my answer will beam up eventually... or should I say OUR answer since I had help both in getting to the dull click and getting to the clickety click.
Update #87 on the board
