On a visit to my daughter’s in Minneapolis. So a semi-in-person solve this week!
As it was late when I posted, I forgot to post the drink I got from the tiki bar. As it was interesting, I will now: A Nordic Negroni.

What, pray tell is that? Aquavit, amaro motenegro, campari. Very interesting.

Don't think I posted. I was done way early, but felt there had to be more to it.

And a funny I saw, since we haven't had it come up in a while...

If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Good Saturday morning muggles

Our report is a bit early as things are busy.

First welcome to our newest muggle @Pfarr324 . Great to have more muggles.

And for those who don't watch the latest movies or in many cases any movies, I would regale you with the last two movies that we watched on our Amazon Fire. Last night was Run Silent, Run Deep (1958) and the night before was White Christmas (1954). Thus this week's meta required googling for which I have no apologies

Currently we have 2 muggles in the ship's bar working for Isaac doing inventory (femullen and JeanneC) and getting free drinks and we have 188 on the shore paying for their drinks

Good luck to those not on the shore and hopefully we can have a streak of muggles winning the mug.

I think this one was from the 80's -- but I doubt it's the answer.

Looks like I'll start googling in earnest. Must say, as an Engineer working on headphones with Bose Corporation, I'm a bit disappointed that a puzzle titled "Sound Logic" wasn't an instant slam dunk for me.

Edit: Ashore. I'm a moron who's apparently too entrenched in my world of calculus and coding to do something as simple as count correctly. I've never seen the movie, but that reference is universal.

NOTES FOR NEXT WEEK'S WSJ META

The WSJ meta for next week will come out on Thursday Thanksgiving Day at about 4 pm. Both Wendy and I will be unavailable to open the forum at that time so we have several options
1) I can open the forum when I get back to the hotel we are staying in but that will be sometime after 9 pm on Thursday
2) Another muggle can step up to be the Assistant Cruise Director to fill in when I am not available. As you probably know the forum runs on the efforts of a very small number of people compared to 2300 who are members of the forum. This is a totally nontechnical job, so if you are willing to help out, send me a PM and we can go from there.
3) There are a couple of other options but they lean on the same key people that do all the other yeoman work to keep this forum humming.

Thanks

Option 4 could be simply to open a forum before the puzzle comes out. You might not be able to include details and description in the top post (but you could edit that later) or include any title more descriptive than "TBA Nov. 23, 2023" (I assume you can change the title later but even if you can't ... would that be so bad) but surely we can handle that. We aren't fussy toddles after all.... well, most of us aren't, well, some of us aren't, well...

Just tossing that out there.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.
