My mood when the Cubs lose. (Spring training starts next week!)
---
Puzzle #83 answer: BISMUTH AS USUAL
Correct entries: 47, a solid level 3 meta!
@BrennerTJ is in her element!
Explanation: The ten highlighted four-letter entries (meant to roughly visualize a "table") are formed by concatenating two elements with a 2-letter symbol, per the center clue. Take those elements' atomic numbers, add them, and get another atomic symbol corresponding to the new atomic number. These spell out BISMUTH AS USUAL, the fitting pun to our 83rd meta (bismuth being #83 as well!).
---
This should be a Level 2. (Famous last words.)
---
84. It's Rhyme for Your Birthday
The answer to the meta is a well-known individual who shares my birthday, 2/17.
Deadline is Saturday, February 24 at 1 pm ET.
Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful! (And happy birthday, @Meg!)

For a fleeting moment I thought you had constructed a puzzle for me!! But it’s OK. I thoroughly enjoyed solving. Happy birthday Mikey!

Happy Birthday MG !(and MeG?)
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Thanks for the puzzle! Happy birthdays to Mikey and Meg!

PS: If you want help with a meta, PM what you have so I can help without spoiling too much. I've received lots of help in the beginning and I love to pay it forward!

Solved. That was fun! Also, happy birthday!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

GNEISS!!
Though, I’ll admit, I needed a nudge — and I shouldn’t have. We were working the early-voting polls — first day for it ever here in Michigan! (Presidential primary) — after coming off a bit of travel and other work, and I must say, I’m tired. Getting too old for all that plus puzzles.
Happy b-day, Mikey! (And Meg!)

Happy Belated Birthday Mikey and Meg.
I was stuck on step 2, although I should have seen it on my own. Thanks for the week 2 meta. I really needed it after MGWCC.

Happy Birthday! I struggled to find all of the things that I needed.
I got sidetracked by my discovery that the International Committee of the Red Cross was founded on February 17, 1863. That is not the answer to the meta. I hope this is not too much of a spoiler.

So grateful for all the birthday wishes! I played with Ginger Cat, solved some crosswords, and did some calculus. Win-win-win!
We're up to 48 on this, and I do think that confirms a genuine Level 2! Not sure if we need too many nudges, but if so, here are a couple to get you nearer to the finish line:
1.
2.
Need to catch up on metas soon! Just learned about a rare P-fruit from one of @pchow13's, and there are several other great constructors in tow as well.
OH! And the first spring training game is Friday! A happy birthday indeed!
