Based on the responses so far, it appears that rather than smooth sailing we have a Beaufort 6 wind with 9 foot waves.

We're still calibrating the instruments aboard this new ship, @Bob cruise director. But don't worry, we'll get you safely to shore - just like the passengers of the S. S. Minnow.Bob cruise director wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 4:47 pm Based on the responses so far, it appears that rather than smooth sailing we have a Beaufort 6 wind with 9 foot waves.

@Cap'n Rick The ship's radar is in a high clutter mode from the waves and can not get a good picture of the dangers ahead.Cap'n Rick wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 4:57 pmWe're still calibrating the instruments aboard this new ship, @Bob cruise director. SSSolved- thanks, Wendy. Very nice "aha" with this one. All three of our kids are 35A. As is @DrTom, I believe.

Pretty sure mine was under the influence of 26A when we met.Bob cruise director wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 12:00 pmHopefully not 1A - LOLChrisKochmanski wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 11:38 amWhere? I especially liked the reference to the place where I met the woman I eventually married.
Solved, thanks Wendy, a tough but fun and fair grid and nice meta!

First time in forever I have gotten to solve as a "non-tester". I really enjoyed it, even if it was a bit choppy.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Sssolved and found the sssailing nice and sssmooth. No nudges needed.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Sssolved, but I definitely needed the nudges!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Sssolved! Delightful puzzle with a clever construction, Wendy!
(…and I appreciate your artful nudging that gives just enough to focus without spilling the beans)

Well sure and that was a lovely diversion for St. Patrick's Day. Nice Smooth Sailing on the Sunday, which apparently St. Pat himself did not have:
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
