This week’s contest answer is a four-letter adjective.

Nice grid, decent meta, board filling quickly for a week 4, even for a 3.

Not a week 3 imho. Matt, despite his incredible constructing skills, has trouble sometimes with difficulty rating.

I started a new streak, too. But something tells me I'll be starting a new new one in a couple of weeks.

Solved with a bit of help from my wife.

Now back to the WSJ.

Beam me up. Agree not week 4 but since WSJCC is killing me for the second week in a row I will take it. Back to the rabbit holes!

On the board. Matt went easy on us this week.

Beam me up, and save me a space on the bridge with a big desk and a full pot of coffee so I can work on the WSJCC.

Definitely haven't seen this mechanism before.

Solved and submitted-confirmed. I thought this was a really creative puzzle by Matt. He never ceases to amaze.

OK, made it out of the slump on a solo solve. Just took me a while to see it. Funny enough, I had a guess with no context and it turned out to be the answer! Would've been correct on a Hail Mary solve.

This never ever happens to me. I really expected last week to be viola - an instrument that usually plays the harmony part.

Beamed up much more quickly this week.

It's definitely a first for me!

Got it a couple hours ago but forgot to post. It sort of seems like this one should've been harder than last week's, but I found it much easier.

Biscuit in the basket (channeling my inner Keith Olbermann)! Gotta crack that WSJCC code before I crack open a drink, though.

No; Matt wrote that since last week didn't have the expected % correct, he would make this week's easier.
