Formerly known as the “Sunday Summer Substitute”, editor Cap'n Rick now takes the helm for 'Smooth Sailing Sundays'. As The Commodores sang about Sunday morning, the SSS will focus on easier metas. SSS will also support smaller grids and will mentor new constructors on request. Puzzles released each Sunday around 8am Eastern. Nudges released same day at Noon Eastern. New constructors are welcome.
As the title suggests, this one is easy. It’s a meta that a four-year old could get. (If you don’t believe me, find a four-year old.) Official sources will neither confirm nor deny that this has been scraped from the bottom of the SSS barrel, but it should remove any diffidence new constructors might feel about submitting their own.
Thanks to @Abide and @Wendy Walker for test solving and to @Joe Ross for making it all accessible.
Shannon PS: If you want help with a meta, PM what you have so I can help without spoiling too much. I've received lots of help in the beginning and I love to pay it forward!
Bit of a rougher go for me (both grid and meta), but only because it targeted some of the many holes in my knowledge.
Still fun though. Thanks!
Check out this very cool project by many of your favorite muggles to raise money to fight cancer. You get a fun puzzle bundle and good causes get $. Win-win: Crosswords for Cancer
I wasn't kidding about borrowing a four-year old. Many if not most toddlers will be familiar with the source material for the themers. It’s musical.
On an episode of "Seinfeld," Jerry sings a brief excerpt from the song. Strange that a song for toddlers would appear in the same episode as a contest over “master of my domain,” but that’s what you get when Larry David writes the script.
You could Google that episode of "Seinfeld." Or you could just Google the four themers all at once. The latter will give you several renditions more artful and complete than Jerry’s.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
