Wow... stared at this grid for twenty minutes and had nothing. Came here and read comments that it was easy, went back and got it in under thirty seconds... the power of suggestion!

Also solved and submitted...this is my 2nd year as a Fireball subscriber and last year he had a chess-themed contest puzzle; this one seems similar in difficulty level and straightforwardness to that one. I guess he's getting it out of the way early this year.

Yeah, got it pretty easily. Within the puzzle there was an... unwelcome reminder...
