Alternation by Mike Shenk - WSJ 2-19-2022
This seems to be it. I just updated an old link I had for tomorrow's date. I know the paper will come in the morning but if you can't wait as I can't...
I am nowhere on the Friday Meta so far this weekend.

Thanks Joe. Not showing up for me on the WSJ site. Time to grab a cup and get going on it!

Thanks @ron and @Joe Ross !
Just finished. Enjoyed it. I may have said this before, but last year I met my goal of completing every Friday WSJ Variety puzzle, with the main challenge being the cryptics. In the process, I formed the habit of expecting it punctually at 4pm Friday! I think it was always there on time last year. Wonder what’s going on with it lately?

I have barely the outside circle, and not the end of that, and 20 and 21 dead center. That’s it!!!!!
I’ll give this another look tomorrow, but I’ve never been so stumped on one of these. Saturday varieties are generally far and away my favorite.

We’re visiting the son, DIL, and grandson, and there’s not a pencil in the house. So I had to do this in pen — very carefully, need I note. And since I’m not particularly strong on spatial relations, “Alternations” is never easy for me to begin with. Which makes me pleased to report: I’ve muddled through it. Success!
Good one, Mike!

Made progress, not going to finish this. Could about go blind trying.

Just finished after not looking at it on Sunday. Got the inner and outside pretty quick. Took longer on the mid-answers. Once one fell, they kinda stumbled out of me onto the paper. Fun one Mike!
