Last night I gave up and Googled and bashed my way through the grid. Had never heard of half the stuff in the NE quadrant. Gotta get out more.

Then I stared and stared.

This morning, still staring.

On my usual stool, Cruise Director Bob.

Ahoy, Isaac!
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Ashore! Nice to be on terra firma after two weeks of gazing longingly at the beach party from the ship's bar.

After a two week slump I'm happy to be back on the beach! Cheers to all the Muggle Mothers!

I am ashore!
And it’s a good thing too, cause I was thiiis close to abandoning metas completely after not being able to solve for so many weeks.
(Who am I kidding. I live for the weeks I can solo solve and walk around feeling like a magical genius 😉)

On shore! 🏝 and on our way to KC MO to see our youngest son who just got engaged 💍 last weekend!

Clever puzzle! Got step 1 quickly yesterday but then nothing until a fresh look this morning while driving thru IL!! ( and Happy to get it as I have a degree in Chemistry! 😜)

Still at sea. Frustrating couple of weeks. Also same with MMMM

Update: ashore I think. Don't love this mechanism.

I've joined the party on shore. This could have involved a lot of rabbit-chasing, but it all became clear.

WSJ has a new variety puzzle pack out at https://www.wsjplus.com/offers/puzzles-money-2022

It's subscribers only. Just downloaded it - now to find some time to solve them.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

I had the silver bullet but could not close the deal (how is that for mixed metaphors) because I was sleeping in the back of the second grade class once again.

Finally on shore but made it much harder than it had to be. So I will be sitting in the corner with the dunce cap on my head rather than submitting.

Maybe better luck with the delayed MGWCC Week 5 on week 1

Ashore, though the swim took longer than it should have.

I'm on shore with all the other 2 week slump victims. Started the grid yesterday and easy enough but I could't get into the spirit and put it down with the grid only 30% done. Took a look today after cleaning up the NYT puzzles and it all fell together quickly including the meta. Nice to be on solid ground.

Finally got this one after trying way too many other things with the obvious things I had found immediately. Sheesh. I had little trouble with the previous few weeks, but THIS one kicked my… trasero. Too late for CINCO, but how about a SEIS-pack of some fine cervesa, and I can share with five of you friends!

Good Friday afternoon muggles

An interesting challenge by Matt and Peter.

So far we have 6 on the ship and 102 on the shore

So if you haven't gotten it yet, keep plugging

ashore4us! We experienced that beautiful "AHA" that we all crave. I saw the first part pretty early on but it took a while to see part 2. Actually, Cynthia spotted it and we ran with it together. You know the old adage, "The couple that metas together, stays together." Wonderful construction!

We will have our weekly Friday 4:30 Eastern Time again this week. All are welcome and I look forward to getting together with other muggles!

Don & Cynthia

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!
