At the risk of restarting a whole new slew of Airplane comments, I wish to report that I remain on the Good Ship Lollipop.

Dom reached the shore waaaay before me, but I’m happy to report that I finally got there as well.

PS: I really hate to quibble; this is free, it provides mental exercise and enjoyment, etc... But... I think this one could have used a better pointer than “5-letter word”. Or maybe that’s just me.

Dom’s twin sister (and my only daughter) texted me this morning, having watched “Caddyshack at 40” on “Good Morning America”. She is about to adopt another dog, and thought she would name it Lama. I got to tell her stories of my cat, named Lama (we called her Lammy), including the one 30 years ago, when my now-wife took Lama (her name on the official records) to the vet. The vet walks in, looks at chart, and starts immediately into a Karl Spackler routine. My wife-to-be thought “All men are insane” and wondered whether marriage was such a good idea!

Would have thought your wife would have seen the flowing robes, your grace, bald head, and thought, "Stunning."

At sea. I miss the good old days when the grid gave up its secret without a multi-part mechanism. Maybe tomorrow will bring inspiration.

Arriving late to the party this week. We went sailing yesterday. Sailing comes before crosswords (only by a little). Made it back to shore in real life but still on the ship in Muggle land.

I’m heading for shore. Not because I like my answer any better than before, but because Isaac is out of Blanton’s. I’ll have a Guinness at the tiki bar if there’s any left.

Enjoy the weekend, Muggles!

Perhaps my favorite is no longer PC

I’ll go with “Licensed to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. A man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint”

Side discussion. Not sure 1A is correct. It certainly is not as of 2019.

On shore at last - a delayed post-enlightenment. Very clever - and I like it alot. But for me this one was much more difficult than last week.

No longer on the ship, thanks to an unsolicited (and I think unintentional) nudge. Neat mechanism. I'll forego submitting this week...good luck Muggles!

I wondered about that too. That answer shows up in crosswords all the time, but I think it's pretty anachronistic in real life.

No matter how COMplex the meta, you can put your MONey on the fact that someone--in less than 30 minutes--will be YELLing "on shore". My name does not go dOWn in that category! I'm looking THis way and that way and don't even see a rabbit hole. It looks like a sheet of solid ROck. I am definitely AT sea. But the weekend is still young.

Don’t count me on shore yet, but I am close enough to see everyone enjoying their drinks. I have a word, but it doesn’t appear to fit the theme.
