VOILA! No, that's not the 5-letter word. Nor is SHORE, but that's where I'm at...finally!

So I collaborated with my distanced solving partner today. I’d managed to get to one brilliant “had to be” answer. And DSP had managed to get to quite another.

I think DSP is correct! And that Monday could be very likely to bring a lot of arguments and disgruntled customers.

Should be fun. If I’m right.

Ashore! Put it together with my husband.
Husband: “I don’t know what I’m looking at.” Walks away.
Me: “I don’t either. Oh, I see it!”

We are on the beach! I was struggling with the grid and son comes over to help, quickly finishes the grid then solves the meta. I just watched in amazement. Rum punch for me please.

Connection made, 100% sure, just ran by the bar to say "see you next week" to Isaac.

I may have to ask him 41A - he might not after a few weeks of non-patronage.

Gah I enjoyed this. Especially after a few weeks of not getting the WSJ (putting the limited time I had into the MGWCC instead …)

On shore! My new pattern seems to be solve the grid on Thursday, stare at it intermittently Thursday and Friday with no idea. Sit down Saturday morning and see it quickly.

Alas, I'm still on the ship watching you all frolic on the beach. I know what I'm supposed to do but can't quite see the solution.

It’s a good news/bad news situation here in the stern garden connecting with nature. You can infer the bad, the good is that @Janet P and the able gardening crew are making a water garden back here. Looking good so far!
