Update from Mike Miller - they found the problem and believe they have fixed it. Let me know if it is not fixed.
How many times have I heard this before "we have a minor update (also called a small software change) to the system. Don't worry, it will be transparent to the users.
My rule of thumb always was:
15 minutes for the engineer to check out the solution to the problem
2 hours to design the change to the "patch" he already checked out
2 days to fully implement the final change
2 weeks to do regression testing to ensure that nothing broke

Done (yesterday) and done (today). Probably many more rabbit holes than most of you encountered.
Visited our non-metaphoric (grin) shore for the first time in quite a while. Nice to see the calm waters again.

Done. This one took me longer than last week. A victim of the "stuck on one thing and can't stop focusing on it" syndrome that is really annoying, and surprisingly hard to overcome.

I have that happen often - It happened on this one but I took a break from dinner last night and came back and was able to put my original idea aside long enough to recheck something I sorta glossed over (but shouldn't have) at first - and that worked out.

My laptop was out of commission for a couple of months, and therefore so was my ability to print the puzzle. So like Sew, I also pulled up the PDF and recreated the entire grid on a piece of paper. I have to say, going through that process seemed to create more insights than just solving the x-word. (But of course now that the laptop is fixed, I'm much too lazy to go through the recreation process.)

Al - What exactly do you do for the 48 hours each weekend that us mere mortals use to scratch our heads?
One world. One planet. One future.

Well I sleep for about 7 of them...I like to keep busy, and I haven't been bored for one second during the quarantine. I do miss my day drinking though. I mean, I still do it... I just call it "stay drinking" now.

OMG(osh)! I actually think last week’s puzzle motivated me! I am bold enough to claim “I am onshore!”
Is it that I am retired, too cooped up or just crazy to feel such a sense of accomplishment?!

I didn't find this as easy as most, but I'm finally ashore, but struggled getting there.

Ashore in less time than usual, oddly enough. Enjoyed getting that one!
Trying to find meaning (and not just for crossword puzzles).

On shore!
As much money and life as you could want! The two things most human beings would choose above all — the trouble is, humans do have a knack of choosing precisely those things that are worst for them.
