On shore, I do believe.

Nice one! Clever, Mr. Gaffney! But I did indeed solve it! So there!

As others have mentioned, a little backsolving was involved.

So I thought of something, and then I spotted something, and I thought I was really onto it, and man ….

Did that ever not work out.

Has to.

Doesn’t.
Yes, it does! (It did for me, anyway.) Keep plugging, and spotting.
My plug isn’t fitting into any outlets. Particularly discouraging when you think you’re on the cusp, and wham, down on the ground looking into empty space.

It's always so interesting to see how people do with these puzzles: for some, last week's was hard and this was easy. I found last week's answer amazingly easy, and this week.... nothing. Trying not to get too hung up on my lack of "Gaffney-ness"....

Hanging with Isaac in my usual seat.

Stay safe all.

Ashore! I was able to get this one pretty easily, though while there was a clear path to the answer, there was a point where I thought I'd taken a wrong turn.

I'm posting late because I'm rowing the Head of the Charles this weekend. A beer will have to wait.

Done and done. I still can't get one part to my satisfaction, but the rest made too much sense, so I'm good with my answer. The daughter has been stingy with the cat pics as of late, so I'll have to wait until my next successful submission sometime in December to get one of their pics up.

Ashore!
I'd attach a picture if I knew how. Two cats. Four beds around the living room. Two more small beds and a great big jumbo dog bed from Costco on the front porch.
Where do they sleep? In the new shoe box and on the brown Amazon envelope.
"Nuff said.

Made the grid in no time flat. Started to analyze the puzzle for the meta and then…Harvey showed up! Last week he was at the Schooner Bar playing 60’s TV theme song trivia and I got the meta by Friday afternoon. This week, he has been at my elbow at Isaac’s bar since I finished the grid and I see nothing (to quote Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes).

Harvey, we need to talk….

On shore! I’m pretty sure,
At least I think it’s true.
But that right there’s the dif’rence
Twixt the brains of me and you.
One day I’ll think I’m right,
The next day I’ll be off.
Sometimes I feel quite bright,
But then my brain goes soft.
I’m never sure ‘till Sunday
If I’m Einstein or a dunce…
But is it OH SO MUCH to ask:
Can I get the mug, for once??!

Oh yes i did solve it! The solution surprised me (can’t say why without a possible spoiler), but I feel pretty sure it’s right, based on google lookups.

On shore and looking for a nightcap. And maybe a drink too.

Good luck today. The weather should be perfect for rowing. Let us know how you do.
