On shore. Have a great weekend, all ... from the soon-to-be-snow-covered-again Northeast.

I had the opposite experience. WSJ wouldn't let my access this without a subscription so I had to print and do it on paper which I had gotten out of the habit of.
So I just plain couldn't get my meta based on "Up the Down Staircase" to work.

My challenge it to constructors is to make a meta where the meta, theme or metanism is "Up the Down Staircase".

ETA: Something else has been pointed out to me that now makes it maybe a 99.44 percenter.
I imagine you realized what I realized. But that moved me from 42% to 65%. But I think my need for an answer to be absolute is a little higher than most. I'm pretty sure I got this but I doubt anyone will manage to convince me it will ever be more than a 70%er.

I got most of the way but then stalled for a while before getting to the answer I'm sure -- after checking -- is correct. I didn't know it was actually a Thing.

You guys are quick, but I'm with you now!

Huggle-ty, muggle-ty,
What’s a mug, anyway?!
Just a mere souvenir—
Only a toy!

Yet it would transcend all
Memorabilia!
It should bring bragging rights—
It could give
joy!

I was also a little unsure until I checked. I don't think there's anything else it could be.

I expected to see a few more people on shore by now. This is one that might have caused me problems when I first started doing these metas, but not anymore.

Keeping company with Isaac as I await the inspiration to get to pt. 2 (or however many there are). I am certain I have the key, now just need to unlock the secret. Meanwhile, Beach Muggles, Cheers.

Made it! Said “bye” to Isaac, “hi” to the beach crowd. Very fun meta.

I keep thinking I’m about 3/4 there. Is there a “thing” that I’m not recognizing? Must be. I’ll pedal along for a while yet
