This one drove me nuts for quite a while. For some reason I didn't even think of the circumflex. (I never took French.) I did think I was looking for carets, and found four arrangements of letters in the shape of a caret in the grid. I also found four ONEs, as in "in contrast to the ONE seen four times in this grid." I also researched golf clubs, and the angles associated with the four types of wedges. I read about cheese, and hats, and politics, and shoes. I tried making a hat out of STETS(on) and looking for three more (PEZ to FEZ?) Finally, when I was about to give up, I visualized the damn circumflexes and it fell quickly into place. Very nice. Oh, and I did see the MARNER/MARINER early on, which gave me flashbacks to the baseball puzzle! Even with that I didn't catch the I trying to wedge its way in for the longest time...
