Nudges, in order of increasing blatancy:

1. 1 across and 67 across together form an illustration of what you need to look for in order to solve the meta: ECHOONCE.

2. There's something going on with the 4 long entries.

3. The title (and blog post that accompanied this puzzle's announcement) references 1 Cor. 13:12. The import of this is poor reflections.

4. If you placed a mirror in the centre of each entry, one side almost reflects the other side.

Cool little theme, and while "Cloud Cuckoo Land" per 50-D is a chonky book, it was wildly ambitious. Don't felt 50-D landed everything quite exactly, but it was an intriguing read. (His "All the Light You Cannot See" is perhaps more famous, and it's one I need to get to down the line!)
