Well, I messed up that copy, but it pointed out that this werkend’s dates are palindromes!

Took the item with the appropriate name I picked up yesterday out on its maiden voyage today. A few miles (Back and Forth!) on the Cocohatchee River. Here are a couple of photos of wildlife along the way. A white ibis and a heron.

Heron

The item is an Eddyline Sky 10, and only weighs 30 pounds. Nice.

Yes, but only twice. One of those times was today.....my first word returned 1 green letter and 3 yellow ones.
Yes, but only once. CRIMP --> FRAME
(That's the only time I had two green letters in the first guess.)
Once. ALIEN and then ULCER.
Try this.

The beach has been getting more crowded all the time. So far we have 2 on the ship and 243 on the shore. Close to our record of 271 on the shore.
For the record (aka Bob stats): solved.
I sneaked this one past the Moderators. I feel like @Bird Lives

I solved this, after spending time looking for palindromes. I noted that a number of answers could be made into palindromes with a single letter substitution (LEVER -> LEVEL, LYE -> EYE, ROM -> MOM, etc.), so I spent some time working that. Then I started looking for palindrome-like fragments, then finally noticed the palindromic pairs in the theme answers.

But I was highly irritated that the answer was "PALINDROME", since it was so OBVIOUS!

This is the best I can do:
There's a streetcar, or trolley that takes me to the shopping district. It's also known (uh oh) as a mart tram.

It took a good night’s rest for me to realize that two letters needed to be extracted from between the three letter pairs for them to be truly palindromic.

Thank you for the kind words.

So everyone can have hope all day today that they were the one who is awarded this week's gold medal you won't be contacted by the WSJ until tomorrow.

By the way, this is Patrick Berry's 18th WSJ meta.
You forgot me. Post #124. So make it at least 271. You may forgotten some others around my post time too. Thanks

Was away all weekend and just got to the chat this morning. I love Wordle...my friend in England and I do it every day and compare how we have done and how we got to the answer.

I have gotten the answer in 2 three times. I only can find one screenshot I took of my path. I went from DREAM to SHARD. I have always wondered if anyone picked the word on their first try?

I credit my "luck" to my years as a teacher and having to decipher what a student meant to write with only 2 correct letters in the word!
