OTC. Great meta! I needed the first nudge. I'm glad that I went back after I solved and read the rest of the nudges. They were not only fun, but the final nudge tied a bow around the meta that I had missed.

Outstanding puzzle and meta Cap'n!
If I’ve solved and you need a nudge, you can PM me. Happy to pay it forward.

??????
Can't understand that nudge at al..... ohhhhhh!
So I just plain couldn't get my meta based on "Up the Down Staircase" to work.
My challenge it to constructors is to make a meta where the meta, theme or metanism is "Up the Down Staircase".

Finally got there. Went down way too many rabbit holes to see the obvious. Needed nudge 3 to make it click. Thanks, Cap'n and enjoy your vacation!

Off the couch, Cap'n Rick.
It was kind of like when they keep the protein powder on the top shelf of the Costco: Whey over my head there for quite a while.
Thanks for the great puzzle!

Aye Aye, I did it!
Off the couch (?) - but only after spending forever trying to force the wrong metanism on it…

All hail Cap'n Rick! He has set a new PR this week with an impressive 95 solvers AND got a very nice shout-out from Matt Gaffney.

If you haven't given this one a go, there's still time!

Wait wait, don’t tell me — it’s time for the reveal!
Congratulations to Capn Rick on a fabulous puzzle with 103 solvers!
Our meta answer is something you may find on a ship. The puzzle title in conjunction with clues 39A and 30D led us to several theme entries that form new phrases when REPEATed or ECHOed... or PARROTed. See what he did there?
