Made it to shore (with some Endurance, Shackleton's, that is).
It was a bit of a cold swim from the Weddell Sea,

now for some hot cocoa.

I am pretty sure that I am on shore. It took me a WHile. Finished the grid but couldn't quITE see anything so I set it aside for later. There were 4 minutes on the oven timer, so I thought I would sit down WIth the puzzle for those few minutes. And then I saw something--and another something. The oven timer diNGED but I was on the hunt. Then I hit a roadblock. I wanted to keep working but I just sighed and said to my husband: I suppose you want dinner--now? I shouldn't have ignored the timer--the biscuits were a little CRispy (but not a total lOSS). After dinner, my husband helped me over the road block. I found something that "seems" to fit the BILL but I may ponder a little. I'll have an 8-hour car ride tomorrow so lots of time to ponder. Heading out for a first birthday party with our little wild thing.

Gasp! Did we really just solve a Gaffney puzzle? And on a Thursday? Shocking! But we'll take it!

Cabana boy, how about a crisp cider?

Have a terrific (and safe) weekend all, despite the antiquated and barbarous act of messing with our circadian rhythms called "the Time Change." (Haha say the Muggles living in AZ and HI...)

For the tally…I’m at sea.
Looks like I’ll be spending the night on the ship.
Hopefully fresh eyes will help in the morning.

Aha. I’m with the 99.9%~ers. First90% an easy swim, but then a tough paddle. Takes another think to recognize the elegance.

On shore I do believe. Can’t post much on this forum because the browser keeps kicking me off… is it because I’m in Mexico?? ANYhoo… lotta cervesa on the sand, after a morning of hauling in some lovely bonito out at sea (off Cabo).
The other Wendy.

On shore. I made a really dumb mistake and once I figured out what went wrong, I got the answer. White Claw for me!

Ashore! Grid completed yesterday and picked it up to take a stab at the meta about 10 minutes ago. This one fell into place for me.

So many times for me. Five minutes into the meta, I see the route and am thinking "I'm gonna be on page one!" Since 4:15 yesterday, I have been 100% sure of 50% of the answer. See no way to proceed for the last part, and nothing seems to fit. Gentle nudges welcome.

Like Wendy (#81) I too had a wrong answer. Unlike hers, it was not amusing. But it was/is defensible. (Exhibit A: It comes up on Google, Youur Honor.) I needed a disconfirming shake of the head (a wiser head) from a friendly Muggle.

Did the grid awaiting boarding and got the meta just before takeoff. Straightforward, which they need to be for me. :-)

I am ashore! Kinda shocked I got it so early. Sunday afternoon solves are usually my thing - that is when I manage to solve at all. Settling in at the beach!
