Another fun one. Like his others — just chip away and it eventually falls together.

Thanks, Richard!
Playing this last night resuscitated my WSJ-damaged ego.

Same here! These puzzles are great therapy in the weeks where I do not solve the WSJ meta, and trail mixes are my favorite variety puzzles. I always marvel at the construction.

Fun as always and some pretty long entries! I wonder how one even starts to construct one of these.

Fun puzzle. The last one I figured out was Trails 16 (B-ball player). Haha. Still lost on the WSJCC. Figures.

That was fun!
Enjoyed the longer trails this time as I found them quite helpful in solving the grid. Might be a fading memory, but felt like there were more and longer than usual trails this time around. (16, 16, 14, 14 letter trails)

Son of a gun, that was one tough hombré!
Finally cracked every nut.

I think you are absolutely right about the longer trails. And they definitely helped me to solve the horizontal answers, too. I made a stupid mistake in one long trail ("a lonely place to wash up") that messed up that whole corner of the grid!

I need to check this forum more often. I love the WSJ variety puzzles and I missed this one somehow.
