This little grid has four long across answers: STRIPPED, MONARCH, JEWELRY, JUVENILE. The clue for each one of those - i.e. "Letsie III is Lesotho's" for MONARCH - can also be used as a clue to one of four 4-letter down entries: BARE, KING, RING, TEEN. Anagram the first and last: BREA, KING, RING, ENTE. Reorder the last two: BREA KING ENTE RING.
The crime is BREAKING and ENTERING (which is what was required of solvers: cracking the meta and entering the solution).
