I felt I was off to a very slow start, with only a few things filled in. But row and loop by painful row and loop, I eventually got there.

Got everything eventually. The top half filled nicely, then had to struggle from bottom up for the rest.

Did anyone else understand why the "reportedly" in the clue for 9a?

I got the entry without noticing, then looked again at the clue, and finally the "reportedly" registered.

I wouldn’t have given it any more thought but for your question.
