1. Puzzle #33 recap

Puzzle #33 answer: STOP SIGN

Correct entries: 61 - fans of prime numbers and Roger Maris, rejoice! This is also a record by far!!

Image

Eight definitely was enough in this meta for eight 8-letter answers to eight across clues. The problem? The entries themselves (also legitimate words and phrases!) were 9 letters long! You had to drop the unnecessary letter from each of those entries, and they spell STOP SIGN.

Don't stop now, though - let's go to our next meta! (Any more traffic puns would be a dead end.)

3. It's a Week 2 meta this time! And that's all I have to say, haha.

34. Secret Places

The answer to the meta is a city.

Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Pretty tough week two. I’m anxious to see what weeks 3 and 4 are like.

I think I know what I have to do. But it turns out nonsense (and way too long).... Hmm.....

I have no idea what you are even trying! I see some things, and I see some other unrelated things, but none of it adds up to a city or even a too-long nonsense word.

I found the Secret Place. But it was not quick for me.

Great puzzle. It was a 49A for me for awhile, but worth it for the AHA!

Not seeing anything at all. Eagerly awaiting the nudges.

It's Nudge Wednesday time! This one is definitely playing a bit like a Week 3, which makes sense in some ways.

Here we go!

1. The central across entry must be relevant in some way, especially with meta solvers alerted!

2. A lot of cities around the world are capitals, but this one is a bit more in my nation's neck of the woods (sorry, Ben!!).

3. What I changed at the last minute (and probably should have kept): The original meta prompt indicated "U.S. city."

4. Note the reference to "state" in the clue for CAPITAL.

5. So, state capitals are, in fact, relevant in solving this meta. You'll need several!

6. Or, rather, I should say per #5, you'll need to find several state capitals.

7. And if you don't find much looking at the grid, I suggest you get some further clues.

See if those help!

Even with the apology (I appreciated the personal touch - thanks, @MikeyG!) I am making absolutely no headway on this puzzle. I guess my Aussie brain is not attuned to what is required!

My properly situated brain had a very hard time noticing what was needed.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

I tried following the rabbit into the "secret place" that began and ended as a 44A. Apparently right there with @Dow Jones (according to the Crosshare comment) ;) But once I took a different course, it finally came together! Good one, Mikey!
