Welcome to...

benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Don't let the scary physics equations put you off! OK, so a little knowledge of physics might come in handy. Hopefully, you'll be able to work through the required prerequisites, put together the experimental data in the right way, and make an important discovery that just might net you a Nobel Prize down the track. In this case, what you are looking for is a phrase suggested by the four long answers.

The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Physics 101 - Online Form
Physics 101 - PUZ
Physics 101 - PDF
Physics 101 - spreadsheet

Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Castle stormed! Lots of spoiler-y things on the tip of my tongue, so I’ll just stop there. Good one, Ben!

"Now that's what I call a MOAT!"
said Darth looking across the chasm.

Moat crossed, castle stormed, and physics learned. Great one, Ben!

I think physics is one of the toughest subjects at a secondary level. I have all the pieces (maybe?), but I still need to have the a-ha moment!

Can "Calculus 101" be next? :D

Oh no - I got burned! Thought I had a really good a-ha moment. Turns out it was a ruh-roh. :(

Crossed the moat! Not enough math(s) in your physics.

Your wish is my command...

In other news, my stats on Crosshare show me that I've had over 15,000 solvers. Not all of those got the meta, so it's a helpful reminder that the grid and clues have to be worthwhile in themselves.

I was a math major with a physics minor. I am totally lost. I will stay the course.

Crossed! Stormed!

With help. And now that the castle is finally mine, I’m kicking myself for having needed nudging.

Fun! Thanks, Ben!

Accidentally submitted my MMMM answer in the MOAT. And it sank. Still lost on this one.

Superb puzzle, chuckled to myself. Crossed the MOAT and can’t wait for the light to come on for MikeyG😀

It's May 4th, so here are the nudges as promised:

1. It's May 4th, so here are the nudges as promised.

2. The four long entries have some things in common.

3. While physics is definitely involved, 46 down might provide a nudge in a certain direction.

4. The first and last words of the phrase have been strategically placed in the grid.
