Being a cat forum we are not dogmatic about anything here. I have pushed the envelope in the past, but I think never quite as far as this one.

Mystery Cat

Well, I've submitted an answer and am awaiting a reply. Schroedinger's cat time!

Submitted. Waiting. Cat is sleeping and dreaming of chasing lizards.
Edit: the cat is still in the bag.

Cat still captive, but the cluing here is over-the-top brilliant.

I submitted an answer. So, we’ll see.
Edit: Not there yet, despite Josh’s suggestions. But he says I’m getting closer.

I just laughed way too hard at 77-Down. That is all, haha.

Many clues and entries made me chuckle. Almost like Henny Youngman one-liners.

For me, 43a, in its quiet way, struck me as particularly amusing — a nice unexpected play on a crossword cliche.

Agree about the clues - I'm still giggling. Submitted an answer and waiting to see...

I have now submitted three answers - each of which is a step in the right direction. I think I need to step some more.

If you haven't bought CCCC you have missed a real treat from our Muggle constructors.

After 4 previous guesses ….. I think (hope) the cat is finally free! Waiting for confirmation….

Eventually got all the way close and freed the cat. That was a fun one! Lots of great clues too.

I know we’re supposed to not consult with other Muggles. So … will there be hints soon??

Normally I would say yes (and apologies for my occasional nudge forgetfulness in general) but actually I can't for this particular puzzle here, but I can nudge individually! Just send me a pm

I had to ask madhatter5 for a lot of help. And as KayW indicated, he was very, very patient and an excellent nudger. It was worth the effort and the trip.
