Guide to BBCode

BBCode is a "lightweight" computer language that you can use to format your posts. Most of the BBCode functions are available in buttons above box in which you type posts - Bold, Italics, Underline. If you highlight any text in your post and push one of these buttons, it will apply that formatting. But on your screen where you enter your post, you will not see the formating. Instead, you will see that a bracketed letter appears before and after your text. This is the BBCode telling the computer where the formatting (bold, for example) starts and ends. It starts with "[ b ]" and ends with "[ / b ]". To see how this will look when it's posted, however, you have to use the Preview button. You can Preview a post as many times as you want to make sure your post looks right. Don't forget to push Submit when you're ready to post.
This guide: BBCode Guide has very good explanations of the various BBCode features, such as how to make lists, how to insert links to other sites, and how to add pictures that you have stored online (for adding pictures you have stored on your computer, see this thread).
Feel free to use this thread as a practice space for experimenting with the BBCode.
