MEOW #77: Introductions

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

Cat and bag are splitsville!

I needed a nudge, but the nudge was just right, because I still had a very satisfying aha when I finally caught on.

Yes, the Hatter is mad. You go, Josh!

More nudges!

I think post-modern is an apposite description of this meta.

If I had said this meta was a Persian it would have been broken

Ugh... I wasn't giving it my all. Literally. And what do I know?

I think my cat left the bag! Took a nudge, but whoa!

Love the creativity and Josh’s thinking outside the bag!

Me too. I feel like I really should have gotten it. But I didn't. I suppose that's a good puzzle that seems obvious in hindsight. (Sure is frustrating at the time though.)

Solution:

Put the text of the introductory post into the grid and you spell out the answer, "It's an honor", which is something you might say when being introduced.

The funny story was that I had the whole thing ready to go when, the morning of release, I realized this was puzzle #77, not #78 as I had originally thought. So I had to redo the grid.

Yes! A puzzle from before! Because, silly me, I thought the grid had to "make sense." :D

Ah, that’s it. I thought you needed extra time to proofread your clues…

i tried just the word INTRODUCTION over and over. That’s a lot of introductions. Surely you could make a phrase from those letters!
