I've submitted my answer. Waiting for confirmation. (Edit: confirmed!)

Great puzzle. Thanks, Josh!

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

MOAT and now MEOW have me turning in circles. I may have to wait for the spoilers.

Yeah, I can't see how the mechanic *isn't* what I think it is..... but it's apparently not.

Thanks for keeping me honest, Larry.

68A is a big hint

You are looking for four 68-acrosses that literally go round the roundabout.

The cat is bag-free!

Finally. I needed a nudge (received before Josh posted the hints above), which now, in retrospect, seems unnecessary. I believe I was making this more complicated than it needed to be.

Thanks, Josh!

Cat’s out thanks to the first two spoilers. No idea what the third is getting at.

Yes the third one might just confuse people. If anyone wants to post a better third nudge feel free :)

After reading the nudges I just have to repeat verbatim what I said in post 8.

I can't see how the mechanic *isn't* what I think it is..... but it's apparently not. And nothing has changed since getting the nudges.

Well I finally solved it, and I think that I was where Woozy was (why, where was Woozy, William woodchuck wondered wildly?). I knew what the mechanism had to be, and it was but I must have gotten carsick and missed the turn because I was way off. Anyway, another fun Madhatter and another cat roaming free.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
