"Still Hungry" by benchen71
Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? There is not really much I can say about this puzzle. Just dive on in, complete the grid, and then hopefully you will then be able to find the answer to the meta, which is a book character - but maybe not the first one you might think of!
PM me with your submissions or submit on Crosshare. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Still Hungry - PUZ

Still Hungry - spreadsheet

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Confirmed on Crosshare. Another fun and innovative meta. Thank you, Ben!

MOAT crossed! One of my favorite "characters".

OK, I crossed the watery expanse. There are fewer chickens in the castle courtyard. Monday night dinner?

DeMOATed. Don’t know what book is being referenced.

Ben was right. It was not the first one I thought of. Sloppy thinking, I guess. But it was the . . . well, never mind. It might have helped if I had been at all familiar with the book or the character. Feelin' kinda illiterate. But it's a neat idea for a meta.

Well, this was rather ... interesting for me.
I'll just say that I've crossed the moat and am now in the courtyard taking care of the chicks. Fun puzzle, Ben!

Pretty sure I have crossed the moat. Awaiting confirmation.
Editing to report that my answer had been confirmed.
Just had lunch, so no longer hungry...at least for the moment.

Crosshared the MOAT! Still working on the title reference.

The moat is a mere memory.
Though I’ll admit, I needed to read the comments on the Crosshare page, and Google, to get the reference.
Fun!

Tried to think in Aussie. Not sure how well that worked, but did survive the moat. Am I wrong to be looking for Isaac now?

Just got to the puzzle after a long day but crossed the moat in record speed. Great job Ben, I really enjoyed the puzzle!
