Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? I had some fun with this one! Hopefully you will enjoy this puzzle as much as I enjoyed putting it together. The answer to the meta is the focus of most social media content.
PM me with your submissions or submit on Crosshare. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.
Social Media - Online Form
Social Media - PUZ
Social Media - PDF
Social Media - spreadsheet
(An error mentioned in following posts regarding the clue at 35D has been corrected.)
Nudges are here.
The solution is here.
Don't forget that the 1st Pre-release MOAT Pack is available for purchase at https://www.ephesusscroll.com/about/interest4.html. US$10 gets you a pack of 12 meta puzzles - with PUZ and PDF files - including nudges and solutions.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Was 35 down supposed to refer to 50 Across rather than 58A?
Fun grid. And I get the first step and gyst of the meta but... not the meta itself. Funny grid though.

Yes, that's an error. I've fixed it on Crosshare and here. The same links work.

After two incorrect submissions, I figured out the right answer.

Me too! Crossed the MOAT!
NIcely done. I was SO sure of my second guess, but alas, it was incorrect. I thought something was wrong with Crosshare for a bit. Then the light came on.

I was equally sure of my first two guesses; both were equally wrong.

I've taken 4-5 shots at it with still no luck. Crosshare has to have a bug today.

Hmmmph..... If the answer is anything but my first incorrect guess then I don't see how anyone is supposed to be able to guess... and yet two people did.

Off for a couple of days with no internet access.
This and others (WSJ!! - gasp!) will have to wait.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
It... actually works.
