"Help!" by benchen71

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? A weekly meta crossword constructed by forum member Ben (aka benchen71). These metas range from relatively easy to more challenging, depending on how many Australianisms he puts in them! Puzzles are posted in a new thread every Tuesday, with nudges appearing on Saturdays, and the solution coming out on Mondays. (At least, that's the plan. Given he lives in Australia, and they are so far ahead of the US time-zone-wise, things may get posted early!)

Welcome to...

benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)

Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Here's an interesting piece of trivia about the cover of the Beatles album "Help!": they are actually spelling out "N-U-J-V" in semaphore. Apparently, the photographer did not like the arm arrangements with the band spelling "H-E-L-P." And with that, it's on to the puzzle! The answer to the meta is a 6-letter word.

The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

Help! - Online Form
Help! - PUZ
Help! - PDF
Help! - spreadsheet

Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Announcing a new meta pack: the MOAT Music Meta Pack. US$10 gives you access to 12 music-themed metas that will not be published at any time in the future: this is not a pre-release pack! And there are some absolute corkers in here. I think these are some of my best metas (even if I do say so myself) ranging from easy ("week 1" in the MGWCC parlance) to relatively difficult (let's just say "week 3" - but ymmv). The pack comes with PUZ and PDF files and private links to Crosshare, where you can access nudges, solve online, submit your answer, and then comment with fellow solvers.

(Please allow 24 hours after payment to receive the pack: time zone differences make it hard to guarantee prompt service!)
