Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? One for you movie buffs out there! Just to keep you on your toes this meta is a highly experimental mashup of rebus puzzles and crosswords. Because the end result proved to be even more obscure than I feared, I've also provided you with some hints. The answer to the meta is an actor.
The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.

The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Loved it!
"Because the end result proved to be even more obscure than I feared" Maybe... but I don't think so.

My Entry to the May 2024 CrossHare Midi Contest
Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

Stormed the castle! Thanks for the Tuesday morning wakeup (or evening wind-down, if that's your thing).

Moat crossed, castle stormed, movies watched. Thanks for the puzzle, Ben!

Crossed the MOAT without realizing it and spent a lot of time trying to make more things work. Fun puzzle though I made it a bit of a drudge, unneccesarily.

Stormed the castle (the hints helped). Fun one and well done, Ben!

Crossed the MOAT with just enough knoweldge to squeeze under the portcullis.
Made for a satisfying sign-off for the night.

Knew the nickname so quick solve but it was a lot of fun to backsolve. Thanks Ben!
